On December 1, the Ministry of Commerce officially implemented the newly issued "Green Sheet Material Procurement Standards." This is understood to be the first domestic standard regulating green sheet materials and the first Chinese standard aligned with international standards. The standard divides sheet materials into three grades: G1, G2, and G3. G1, the highest grade, refers to sheet materials produced without aldehyde-based adhesives, also known as aldehyde-free grade. G2 represents the highest environmental protection level internationally, referred to as safe aldehyde grade. G3 is the lowest level of green sheet materials. The formaldehyde release of G1 is very low, close to that of natural wood. The formaldehyde release of G2 is ≤0.3mg/L, and that of G3 is ≤0.5mg/L.
