Armstrong opens a new chapter in the production of wholly-owned metal ceilings in China

Wujiang, China, November 20, 2014---Armstrong, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of ceilings and flooring, today announced the official launch of its wholly-owned metal ceiling business in China. This move enhances the company's product portfolio in the Asia-Pacific market.
Leaders from Armstrong Industrial Group and the Fenhu High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Wujiang District, Jiangsu Province, along with other guests, attended the opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting event. They subsequently toured the new factory's production facilities.
Building on the Wujiang ceiling factory established in 2013, Armstrong has expanded the factory's operating area to 4,500 square meters to produce standard and custom-designed metal ceilings, including Armstrong Design Series metal ceiling solutions. Armstrong Design Series metal ceiling solutions provide architects with maximum design freedom while ensuring product performance stability. This metal ceiling production business can achieve an annual production capacity of up to 450,000 square meters of high-quality ceilings, with the first batch of metal ceiling products delivered in July 2014.

Since establishing its first joint venture metal ceiling factory in Foshan, China in 2009, Armstrong has been committed to the metal ceiling business for the past several decades. Armstrong's ceiling products and solutions have been widely used in some of the country's landmark projects, including the Shanghai Tower, Jin Mao Tower, National Stadium, and subway construction in Beijing and Suzhou. This expansion of metal ceiling production will further enhance Armstrong's customer service capabilities and enable faster response to customer needs.
With a 150-year history, Armstrong has continuously strengthened its investment in the Chinese market since entering China in 1982. In the past four years alone, Armstrong has invested RMB 1 billion in its Chinese operations. In its 30 years of development in China, Armstrong's business has experienced rapid growth, and the brand has successfully taken root in the Chinese market.
